Greetings, dough-lightful visitor! I’m Yvette—self-taught baker, reformed sugar pusher, and founder of Ma Bakes My Cakes (a title my teens insist sounds like a hostage situation, but they quickly dismissed my runner-up choice Easy Yvette's Bakery, so here we are).
Hailing from the Black Sea but now firmly entrenched in London’s buttery embrace for over a decade, I’ve spent years perfecting the art of less guilt, more crumb. Why? Because life’s too short for dry cakes and bitter sugar aftertaste. And because the process of baking and caking mesmerises me. It takes me away. Don't ask where. I don't know. But it's a very good place. Very.
My Baking Philosophy:

Sugar? Often AWOL. I replace it with sorcery (cf. erythritol, xylitol, and sheer honey willpower). 
- 
Gluten? Frequently evicted. I flirt shamelessly with almond/nut flour, rice/potato starch, and other gluten-free co-conspirators. 
- 
Calories? Politely ignored. My bakes are healthier—a term I use loosely while you are at your third piece of cake. 

A Few Curious Crumbs About Me:

Former life: Wielder of languages, books indulger, and unapologetic maths fanatic (yes, even algebra). 
- 
Great loves: Home-grown flowers, Laughter & Sleep, then Music (the highest art of them all), the Cosmos, encyclopedic knowledge just because, my two teen boys, Constantin and Orlin, and the quiet thrill of a perfectly finished cake. 
- 
Fiction vs. Reality: Studied English Lit but now believe the greatest stories are written in gentle buttercream or fluffy airy chocolate mousse.
